Fan Lace Hat

Well we seem to have gone from Summer and straight into Winter here in England, its freezing, rainy and very very windy! Of course winter means...cute knitted baby hats yay!!!

Believe it or not this is the best photo I could get...

Overjoyed at her new hat as you can see but I love it anyway. Really quick to make and uses less than a skein of yarn! Click here for pattern.

Im Back..this time I really am back I promise!

Ok looking back on my blog I see quite a few of these posts, saying I'm back and then disappearing. Well (hopefully) I am now back for good! I've gave birth to my beautiful (GIANT) daughter 5 weeks ago, a day after Prince George was born so just missed out on a coin, we've starting getting back to some normality now, getting a bit more sleep (thank god) so I've started crafting again!

At the moment I'm just finishing up a large project which has been on the back burner for about 3 years eeeeek, so that should be finished by the end of the week and I'm SO excited about posting the finished pictures, I'm so proud of it.

In the meantime I'll post the few projects I have completed during my time away from the blog, starting with my favourite, this beautiful knitted dress from Drops Designs (click for pattern)

 

No action shot yet as the weather has been unusually warm for England (yes I did give birth in a heatwave, I thought I was actually going to melt in hospital, we are not equiped for hot weather!) but I LOVE this dress and will definately be making it in bigger sizes as she grows. The pattern goes right up to age 3/4 so plenty of opportunities to make it again.

 

 

I'll be adding my other finished projects over the next few days.

Knitting update - July!

Well its July and once again, classic British style its raining. Floods, storms, cold weather, a few of my friends even had to resort to putting the heating on. HEATING IN JULY! So in true British fashion I am having to sort out some warmer clothes for me and Thom (OH seems to wear the same thing all year so he has no problem)
This cardigan was originally meant to be for Autumn/ Winter but due to the pathetic weather I have had to speed up my knitting so he actually has a warmer cardi that fits!

Little boy's Crochet Waistcoat

A bit of a confession here, I made this a while ago and took so long to take pictures and write the pattern up it no longer fits him which is why there are no action shots. Classic me. Anyway this is a free pattern for a very simple waistcoat. At the moment only available in size 3-6 months however I'm going to make a slightly altered version but with arms in a bigger size so will update when I have finished it!

Crochet tank top - free pattern!

I finished this tank top just in time for the heatwave thats happening in Britain at the moment (tshirts in March - whats happening!?!?!) typical.

Crochet dungarees - free pattern!

While browsing the internet for something to crochet my son I noticed there seems to be a major shortage of patterns for boys! Well a few days of not having the internet (and moving house.) and these were born!

Knitted Waistcoat

I've been given quite a few knitted cardis as gifts now (which I love!) so wanted to find something different to make Thom. While mindlessly browsing Ravelry I found this pattern and HAD to make it. How cute is that! A teeny knitted waistcoat, every baby should have one!

Completed knitting projects!

Well I finally got round to posting these! Both were for presents, one for my neice's first birthday and the other for my sisters birthday.

I'll start with the cardigan I made for my 1 year old neice. I fell in love with this pattern from naturalcanon.com . Once again a free pattern (you might have noticed a theme with my craft by now...its all free! ) and I had to make it.

Another knitted dress

Well I PROMISE I'm working on something new at the moment but for now I'll add this dress I made for my second youngest neice. Half knitted, half sewn its SO CUTE! I've asked for an action shot but my sister is not the quickest person in the world lol

I seem to only have a photo of the back! The front is the same but without the buttons anyway. It really is a rubbish photo (moving house ate up my camera fund so I'll have to live with this rubbishy one for a bit longer)
I'll harrass my sister until she takes a new photo lol

Tent like top to summery skirt

Ok, so this was such an easy recon I'm quite embarrased to post it! Last summer I found this top in the sale for £5.

What am I knitting now??

I feel like I'm neglecting my first crafting love, knitting. I usually have a knitting project on the go but recently I've turned to other crafts. Well this weekend I picked up my knitting needles and started to make myself a new black cardigan! I've never made myself an item of clothing before, plenty of baby clothes, scarves, bags etc etc but nothing for me!

Unflattering black top to gorgeous Cardi!

I bought this top about two years ago because I like the sleeves (yes I know, a bad reason to buy a top!) but I really dont suit round neck tops and it made me look about 20 pounds heavier than I actually am. (Sorry about the rubbish photos in this post, my camera has officially died!)
So a bit of cutting and sewing and this is what I ended up with!

This is a close up of the pockets which you cant see in the rubbish photo above! The buttons are covered in the same fabric as the pockets

I'm really pleased with it, (I swear its alot nicer than the photos show! I'll add more when I sort the camera out)
