Having a boy myself and being crafty, I know how hard it is to find items to crochet for them. With a new baby/toddler/little boy, of course you want to craft for them!
These are the top five free patterns I have found for little boys. I also have a few available on my blog
Crochet waistcoat/vest
Simple sandals
Crochet Tank Top
Crochet Dungarees
1. Crochet Wrap Around Baby Boots
I love this pattern from I'm Topsy Turvy and have made them several times for both my ds and dd.
2. Leaping Crochet Baby Hoody
Its so nice to find a sweater that is crochet rather than knit!
3. Breezyboy Newborn Newsboy
A great alternative to a regular newborn hat from Breezybot
4.
How adorable is this Peacoat from Inner child crochet
5.
This Varsity Sweater from Crochet Today is ideal for slightly older boys.

Crochet Shawl
Another catch up post, although this was made over a year ago, I have only just got round to posting it which is strange because it was actually one of my favourite makes!
No idea why its upside down, it wont turn round! Anyway I made this for my sister last christmas, really quick to make and nice and big so you can actually wrap it around you and not just drape it over your shoulders.
This is the pattern I used (free of course) Sidewalk Shawl from Red Heart.
If you are looking for something to make for christmas, this is fab and not too old fuddy duddy!

Granny Square Crochet Headband
Ok if you have seen my posts before you might guess I like a crochet granny square (here, and here) so when deciding what to make to start my crafting going again I of course had to turn to my trusty old friend, the granny square!
I wanted to make something useful and as this pregnancy seems to have made my hair CRAZY I decided on a hairband to mainly use when washing my face to keep my hair from getting wet and even more frizzy than it already is!

Finally a finished project!
I used scraps from my knitting bag which ended up looking like he is wearing trousers (..yeah I totally meant that to happen...) Didnt have any child safe eyes so sewed some felt ones on instead but overall I am very pleased with it! The pattern is here if anyone wants to make their very own baby unicorn.

Granny Square DS Case
Oh Granny squares, how I love you! You may have guessed that from previous post here , but to be honest I do believe you can never have enough granny squares in your house! One day I will get round to making a double bed sized throw but in the mean time I'll stick to the smaller projects like this Granny Square DS Case!
(Now the edges look all wibbly in these photos but I'm staring at it next to me and they are not! crazy..)
Now my Ds is all snuggly thanks to this Granny square case! yay!
This is worked from the granny square flap down.

Little boy's Crochet Waistcoat
A bit of a confession here, I made this a while ago and took so long to take pictures and write the pattern up it no longer fits him which is why there are no action shots. Classic me. Anyway this is a free pattern for a very simple waistcoat. At the moment only available in size 3-6 months however I'm going to make a slightly altered version but with arms in a bigger size so will update when I have finished it!

Crochet baby sandals
I have searched high and low for some soft baby sandals in the shops but the only ones I can find are made from hard material! Why would you put hard sandals on a 5 month old baby I dont know but there you go.
Anyway, I decided to make my own! Very easy and quick to make and due to the high ankle strap, they actually stay on!!!
(look how cute his little toes look!)

Plastic bag holder
I dont know about your houses, but my under sink cupboard is overflowing with carrier bags. Now I know I could recycle them , but the reason we have so many is that we reuse them. Well no more plastic bag volcano for me!!

One of my christmas presents this year was this crochet set from Cath Kidston. Now I dont normally buy ready prepared kits for crafting however my darling partner must have seen me admiring the tin it came in online! (and yes it does look very nice sitting on my book shelves in the lounge)
It didnt take long to finish BUT

Crochet dungarees - free pattern!
While browsing the internet for something to crochet my son I noticed there seems to be a major shortage of patterns for boys! Well a few days of not having the internet (and moving house.) and these were born!

Its nearly Christmas!!!
Ok I know I will scare most of you by saying that, but theres really not much longer to go, especially if you plan to craft quite a few presents like I do. This year my sister, her husband and their four children are coming to stay with me and my partner! YAYY!!!
Now this means there will have to be slight modifications to our usual decor... Most of our christmas tree baubles are very delicate glass - not child friendly and certainly not baby friendly (I'm planning for next year with a 10 month old baby of our own! argh scary thought!!)
I dont have any close up pictures of my beautiful baubles but here is a pic of our tree from last year...just pretend the half dead plant isnt there...
Its a pretty rubbish fake tree (this year we're getting a real one! mmm I can smell it already!)

Granny square crazy!
If you have read the rest of my blog, you may remember the foot stool I made and recovered
Now I do like it, but I dont know, it seemed a bit boring for me! So one weekend and my Sex and the City boxset later
I made this! It will eventually match the granny square throw I'm making (which I'm hoping to finish by the end of the week) and it cheers me up everytime I walk in the living room now its so bright, doesnt match anything else in the room, but thats fine. I'm not one to match everything. My sofa is blue, I have a multicoloured rug and a brown and pink stripe rug in here, green vase, a gravy boat my cat drinks out of (dont ask)...the list goes on!
